Is Cataract surgery painful?
Not at all. We use local anesthetic drops to numb the eye. Most patients only feel a slight pressure, and the procedure is usually over in 15–20 minutes.
What is the difference between Safed motia and Kala motia?
  • Safed motia (Cataract) is the clouding of the eye’s natural lens and is easily fixed with surgery.
  • Kala motia (Glaucoma) is caused by high eye pressure and requires ongoing management or Glaucoma surgery to prevent permanent blindness.
    • How soon can I go back to work after surgery?
    Most patients can return to light activities and work within 2 to 3 days. However, you should avoid heavy lifting or swimming for a couple of weeks.
    Why do I need an OCT or HFA test?
    An OCT scan helps us see the health of your retina in 3D, while an HFA test checks your field of vision. These tests ensure that your eye is healthy enough for surgery and that no other issues are hiding.
    Do I need to stay in the hospital overnight?
    No. Cataract surgery is a "day-care" procedure. You can walk in, have the surgery, and go home the same afternoon.
