Completing over 36 years of surgical experience and extensive work in rural and tribal areas of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.  Combined with extensive training in India’s premier institutes and abroad, Dr. Salil has gained a level of expertise and exposure to best practices that he brings to Tenzin Eye Centre since 2014. Having previously worked at Simla Sanitarium Hospital since 2003, he was awarded the Himachal Pradesh Governor’s Citation in 2012 for the most surgeries by single ophthalmologist in Himachal. Having conducted 85 surgical camps covering 35 rural & tribal towns in 8 districts of Himachal Pradesh, serving over 74,000 patients.

When founding the Eye services at Tenzin Hospital it was felt that in today’s world technology and Artificial Intelligence programs have much to offer. Keeping this view paramount he has led to the development of a world class “state of the art” facility. He is passionate about, and lectures on, both low cost community healthcare as well as the other end of the spectrum – advanced technology and software integration in healthcare.
