Pediatrics

All deliveries (normal as well as caesarean sections) are attended by an experienced pediatrician and routine care of newborns is provided by nurses trained in handling them. All precautions are taken to maintain cleanliness and hygiene using aseptic techniques. In case of any problems after birth, newborns are taken care of in Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) with facilities of-

• Central heating
• Radiant Warmers
• Central oxygen supply and suction
• Infusion pumps
• Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine for babies having respiratory problems
• Surfactant administration
• Latest LED phototherapy units for treatment of jaundice
• Double volume exchange transfusion in severe cases of neonatal jaundice
• Partial exchange transfusion
• Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line insertion
• 24 hr monitoring on multiparameter monitors by trained nurses and consultant and monitoring by consultant by audio-video conference facility if needed
• Separate Septic nursery for outborn newborns or babies with infection also available
• Complimentary stay of mothers in mother's room
• Regular fumigation and disinfection to prevent infection

Apart from newborns, facility for admission and treatment of children upto 18 years of age is also available. OPD and well baby clinics are held on all working days and by appointment on Sundays. Breastfeeding room facility is also available for all mothers. All the vaccines as per National Immunization programme and Indian Academy of Pediatrics are available.
